Probate or letters of administration?
Where a valid will exists, the executor applies for probate. Where it does not, an eligible family member applies for letters of administration. Either way, the court grants authority to deal with the estate.
For people with connections to several countries, EU succession rules may determine which country’s law applies. We can advise on how this affects your estate.
